Osmania University graduates 37 Urdu journalists after fact-check course completion

The Consul General of the US Consulate General Hyderabad, Jennifer Larson, spoke about the problem of disinformation and how it weakens democracies. She gave a speech at an event called “Countering Disinformation for Urdu TV journalists” at the Salar Jung Museum in Hyderabad. Larson emphasized the importance of a free and open press in maintaining democracy and urged journalists to stay vigilant.

The Director General of Police (DGP) Anjani Kumar also addressed the journalists at the event. He requested them to prevent the spread of fake news and advised people not to forward messages without verifying their authenticity. Kumar explained that forwarding unverified messages can cause harm to society and even lead to violence.

In summary, Larson and Kumar both emphasized the need for journalists and individuals to be cautious about spreading disinformation and fake news in order to protect democracy and maintain peace in society.
