Hyderabad: The University College of Engineering at Osmania University marked “National Space Day 2025” in collaboration with the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) of ISRO. The event took place at the Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) Department, drawing in students, faculty, and key space science figures.
Dr. K Chandrashekhar, Group Director at NRSC, ISRO, was the Chief Guest. Dr. Gopalakrishna, Group Head at NRSC, ISRO, attended as the Guest of Honour. Other notable attendees included Professor Krishnaiah, Dean of Engineering at Osmania University, Professor P Naveen Kumar, Head of the ECE Department, and Dr. R Srinivas, Head of SPOD at NRSC, ISRO.
Dr. Chandrashekhar, in his speech, highlighted ISRO’s crucial role in space exploration and the valuable use of satellite data. He explained the importance of celebrating National Space Day 2025 and shared ISRO’s achievements and future plans. He encouraged students to explore career opportunities at ISRO.
Dr. Gopalakrishna shared details about ISRO’s successful missions and future plans, discussing new technologies. Professor Krishnaiah stressed the importance of research and development in space science, urging students to engage more in STEM fields. Professor Naveen Kumar spoke about the ECE Department’s contributions to space technologies and its partnerships with ISRO, urging students to use ISRO’s resources for career growth.
Dr. Srinivas talked about the significance of the Chandrayaan missions, especially the successful Chandrayaan-3 landing on the lunar south pole. He also mentioned other achievements like Mangalyaan, Aditya-L1, and the launch of 104 satellites with PSLV C37. Competitions held on July 22nd were part of the celebrations, with prizes awarded during the event.
