The police issued a stern warning to the public. They stated that anyone found guilty of drunk driving, especially if it leads to fatal accidents, will face severe consequences. Such offenders will be arrested and charged under Section 304 of Part 2 of the IPC and Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. These charges carry a maximum punishment of 10 years in jail and a fine.
