    A bandh was called in Bengaluru and Chennai due to the Cauvery dispute. The bandh lasted from dawn to dusk and received a partial response. The groups protesting demanded the implementation of the Mekedatu reservoir project as a solution to the water dispute with Tamil Nadu. The state deputy Chief Minister, D K Shivakumar, supports this proposal. The protests in Bengaluru continue, with another one planned for Friday. However, Tamil Nadu stated that the Supreme Court verdict is binding and unaffected by these protests.
