Hyderabad: On Sunday, BRS senior leader G Jagadish Reddy claimed that party MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha is echoing the words of those aiming to dismantle the BRS.
Jagadish Reddy responded to Kavitha’s remarks, stating she was reiterating what Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and a Telugu newspaper editor had said. He noted that Kavitha’s recent comments lacked new issues and mirrored the rhetoric of those opposing KCR and seeking to undermine BRS. He mentioned the use of the word “Lilliput,” which Revanth Reddy and Radha Krishna originally used, suggesting Kavitha was following their lead. He expressed that she seems to lack understanding of the agitation’s role.
Addressing allegations about his responsibility for the party’s defeat in Nalgonda, Jagadish Reddy asserted that if he’s accountable for past agitations and victories, he would also own up to defeats. He emphasized that the party’s successes and failures are not due to individual efforts but the collective work of the party. He mentioned having met KCR frequently without Kavitha’s issue ever being discussed, indicating its lack of significance.
Jagadish Reddy highlighted discussions focused on Banakacharla, Kaleshwaram, and agriculture. He affirmed the central role of KCR in the party’s successes, acknowledging narrow election wins and losses. When questioned about his silence on Teenmar Mallanna’s comments, Reddy admitted he was unaware due to being out of the city.
