Hyderabad: B Mahesh Kumar Goud, the PCC chief, criticized former Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao for his unfounded claims about water sharing with AP. Goud asserted that Harish Rao misunderstood the significance of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s meetings in Delhi and his statements during a press conference.

In a press release, the Congress leader mentioned that Union Jalshakti Minister CR Patil had also criticized Harish Rao for spreading false information to the people of Telangana. Despite updates from the Union Minister and clarifications from the Chief Minister, Goud accused the BRS leader of misleading the public on this issue.

The PCC president argued that Harish Rao’s statements were senseless. He claimed that BRS leaders like Harish Rao make such remarks just to stay in the spotlight, rather than focusing on the state’s benefits. Goud challenged former CM and BRS president KCR to attend assembly discussions or risk a mock assembly being held at his farmhouse.

Accusing KCR of betraying Telangana by siding with AP, the AICC chief stated that instead of acknowledging Telangana’s loss of water rights, Harish Rao baselessly blamed Congress, the CM, and Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy. Goud urged Harish Rao and KCR to join assembly debates and present their facts, warning that press conferences alone would not convince the public.
