Hyderabad: A couple from the United States claimed they experienced sexual harassment near the famous Charminar. They shared a video on social media where a group of young men verbally harassed a foreign tourist. The incident, which happened on October 2, caused a stir online, prompting action from the Hyderabad City Police.
In the video, posted by a vlogger named Jaystreazy and shared by SidhuuJ on platform X, inappropriate comments were directed at the foreign woman. Among the group, one man shouted a racial and sexual insult. The foreign man with her warned them, saying, “Be careful what you say because people can hear.”
SidhuuJ expressed concern over this behavior, questioning the actions within the Charminar police limits. He emphasized that tourists in India, and especially in Hyderabad, should feel welcomed and respected, and using such language towards a foreign woman is unacceptable.
The Hyderabad City Police Commissioner, VC Sajjanar, responded swiftly. He informed that the SHO Charminar was notified, and appropriate measures were being taken.
Authorities have escalated the issue to local police for further investigation. They are working to identify those involved to ensure they are held responsible.
