The Telangana High Court in Hyderabad held a hearing regarding free travel for women in TSRTC buses. A person named Harinder from Nagole filed a Public Interest Litigation, asking the court to cancel GIO 47 which allows free bus travel for women. Harinder mentioned that the free travel has caused a lot of overcrowding in the buses and requested the court to cancel the order immediately.

However, the High Court stated that there is no public interest in this petition. The petitioner explained that he faced difficulties before filing the petition. The court directed the Registry to convert the Public Interest Litigation into a Writ Petition and adjourned the trial. The Congress government introduced the free RTC bus scheme for women just two days after taking power.
