Bolla Boina Raju from Gandhi Thatha Nagar in Khairatabad filed a petition in the Telangana High Court. He wants Danam Nagender, the Khairatabad MLA, to be disqualified for switching to the Congress party without resigning from the BRS party. Raju also sent a representation to the Speaker of the State Assembly, which is still pending.

Raju argues that Nagender was elected as an MLA on a BRS ticket from Khairatabad constituency. However, Nagender met with Congress leaders and expressed his desire to join the party to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Despite this, he has not resigned from the BRS party, causing confusion among voters.

The petitioner believes that Nagender’s defection disqualifies him from being an MLA as per the Constitution. The Speaker of the State Assembly, the Election Commissioner, and Nagender are all named as respondents in the petition. The case is scheduled to be heard by Justice CV Bhaskar Reddy on March 28.
