Hyderabad: Visitors at the newly opened LakeShore Mall, Kukatpally have raised concerns after pigeons were spotted flying inside the food court, creating discomfort among diners.
The mall, which opened recently and is considered among the largest retail developments in the Kukatpally–HITEC City corridor, has been witnessing heavy footfall due to its mix of retail outlets, restaurants, and entertainment spaces. However, visuals of pigeons flying near dining areas have sparked hygiene concerns.
Visitors reported birds hovering over tables, sitting on structures, and moving close to food trays. Many said the experience was unpleasant, especially during peak hours when the food court is crowded.
The presence of pigeons in a dining space raises issues related to cleanliness and food safety, as birds can carry contaminants through their feathers and droppings. With a high volume of daily visitors, maintaining hygiene becomes critical for such large indoor spaces.
LakeShore Mall is positioned as a major lifestyle destination in West Hyderabad, attracting families and tech professionals from nearby areas like Kukatpally, KPHB, and HITEC City. The incident, however, has led to calls for immediate action from management to address the issue.
So far, there has been no official response from mall authorities. Visitors are urging the management to implement bird control measures and stricter maintenance protocols to ensure a safe dining environment.
