He called for disputes between countries to be solved through peace and dialogue, and not through unilateral attempts to change the status quo. Modi also recalled his talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and reiterated India’s commitment to resolving the conflict. He quoted Buddha, saying that enmity is pacified by affinity and that we should move forward together with everyone in this spirit. The G7 summit has been focused on the war in Ukraine and the border row with China in eastern Ladakh. Japan invited India and seven other countries to the summit.
