Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the controversy surrounding Sanatan Dharma, which started after a statement made by Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi. Udhayanidhi suggested getting rid of Sanatan Dharma, comparing it to diseases like dengue and malaria.

During a Cabinet meeting, PM Modi discussed this issue with ministers and urged them to respond effectively to the Sanatan Dharma debate. He advised them to familiarize themselves with the topic and present factual arguments to counter opposition leaders involved in the controversy. PM Modi also emphasized that the India versus Bharat dispute should not overshadow the Sanatan controversy, and only party spokespersons should address the India versus Bharat matter.

Banerjee stated that individuals should avoid making comments that may offend religious sentiments, expressing her respect for Sanatan Dharma. She emphasized the importance of refraining from commenting on matters that could harm or offend any section of the population and upholding unity in diversity.

Udhayanidhi Stalin, the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, has faced significant backlash for his statement suggesting the eradication of Sanatan Dharma. Despite the criticism, he remains firm in his commitment to speak out against it.
