Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Narcotic Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) and Domalguda police arrested a 19-year-old drug supplier from Bangalore and a local dealer in a joint operation. Authorities seized 12.57 grams of MDMA, 305 grams of ganja, and a car, totaling Rs 7.30 lakh in value.
Nikhil S, from Bangalore, and Raghavendra Rao, 27, from Vijayawada, were the individuals apprehended. Raghavendra initially ran a medical agency, which closed due to financial losses. To recover, he began dealing in ganja, buying it cheaply from Sileru, Andhra Pradesh, and selling it at a profit in Nuzvid.
In July 2023, he was caught by Veeravalli Police in Krishna district with 7 kg of ganja. After spending 11 months in jail, he got bail but became involved in five more drug-related cases in Andhra Pradesh. Raghavendra then decided to source MDMA from Bangalore to sell in Hyderabad. He obtained drugs via an Instagram contact, Nikhil, at reduced prices, according to YVS Sudheendra, DCP HNEW.
H-NEW advises the public to avoid drug use and urges parents to watch their children’s activities to protect them from drug dangers.
