Hyderabad: Police in Hyderabad have arrested Mohd Amer, a 27-year-old cab driver, for possessing 7.5 kg of ganja. The arrest took place in Kanchanbagh on Tuesday. The seized ganja is valued at Rs 1.86 lakh.
Officials revealed that Amer obtained the ganja from the Mangalhat area through unidentified sources and from Mohd Ismail Shabba in Hafeez Baba Nagar. He bought it for Rs 2,000 per 100 grams and sold it at higher prices, between Rs 3,500 and Rs 4,000. Ande Srinivasa Rao, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Task Force, provided these details.
Amer was caught returning home after collecting the ganja from Ismail. He now faces charges under the NDPS Act, specifically Section 8(c) and Section 20(b)(ii)(B).
The Hyderabad City Police have advised young people and students to stay away from drugs. They are encouraging parents to monitor their children’s activities closely. The police also urge the public to report any drug-related activities to help maintain a drug-free community.
