Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Narcotics Police, part of the Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE), successfully dismantled a drug gang at the Uppal Cricket Stadium Parking Area. They arrested two people and seized 200 grams of OG Kush and 32 Ecstasy pills. The drugs’ street value is estimated at Rs 10.96 lakh. Additionally, Google Pay transaction records worth Rs 1.16 lakh were found, violating the NDPS Act.
During a sting operation on Wednesday, the police discreetly watched and arrested two men exchanging a backpack with drugs. They apprehended Kamtam Mohit, a vegetable seller from Sindhi Colony, Secunderabad, and Swapnil Varthe, a used car dealer from Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh.
The police reported that both men admitted their roles in drug trafficking. Mohit confessed to obtaining OG Kush and Ecstasy pills from Kamil in Chhindwara and selling them in Hyderabad for higher profits to young people and partygoers. Swapnil acted as the transporter, delivering the drugs to Hyderabad under Kamil’s instructions.
The suspects are now facing court for judicial remand. This operation is part of EAGLE’s ongoing mission to reduce the supply of synthetic and high-grade drugs in the city, focusing on the youth. The police urge the public to report any drug-related issues to EAGLE through their toll-free number 1908 or email tsnabho-hyd@tspolice.gov.in.
