The Commissioner’s Taskforce (East) and Kachiguda police arrested a duo who were habitual cell phone-snatchers in Hyderabad on Monday. Arfaz, who was a welding worker at Karmanghat, and his associate Chakali Karthik, a petty vendor from Balapur, were caught with five cell phones in their possession. Arfaz, who dropped out of school, turned to cell phone theft due to his addiction to alcohol and ganja. Despite being sent to a juvenile home for minor offenses, he continued his criminal behavior after his release. The duo used a stolen motorcycle to commit their crimes, with Karthik driving and Arfaz snatching phones from pedestrians. They committed five such offenses, including an attention-diversion method, in the limits of Afzalgunj, Abids, Kachiguda, Meerpet, and LB Nagar.
