Hyderabad: On Monday night, officials from the Prohibition and Excise Department conducted a significant raid at a function hall in Sikh Village, Secunderabad. They seized 262 bottles of liquor, which were not duty-paid, valued at Rs. 8.15 lakhs.
The raid followed a tip-off that the function hall stored non-duty paid liquor for guests. The team discovered a total of 262 bottles during their operation.
The liquor came from Goa, Defence canteens, and Airports. Since no duty was paid for transporting the liquor into the state and it was sourced illegally, the entire stock was confiscated.
The Prohibition and Excise Department has filed a case in connection with this incident.
