Hyderabad: The State Youth Congress held a protest outside the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Hyderabad. This was in response to a chargesheet filed against former Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case.
During the protest, police detained many Youth Congress members and took them to different police stations across the city. Protesters also burned an effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They accused the Central government of using the case as a form of political revenge against the Gandhi family.
The protest was led by State Youth Congress president Jakkidi Shiva Charan Reddy. It was part of a nationwide protest. Many Youth Congress workers came in groups, shouting slogans against the ED and the central government.
The situation became tense when some protesters tried to force their way into the ED office premises.
