Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao announced on Saturday that the party has decided to boycott the upcoming Hyderabad MLC elections.
He warned BRS councillors that a party whip would be issued and strict action would be taken against anyone who disobeys this decision. KTR also hinted that by-elections may soon be held in Telangana.
KTR said he was confident that the people of Telangana would support BRS in any upcoming elections. He reminded everyone that the party made history by winning 99 out of 150 seats in the 2017 GHMC elections.
He added that even in the 2023 Assembly elections, the BRS party flag was strong within the Outer Ring Road area. KTR claimed that the people of Hyderabad would not fall for the false promises of Congress and BJP.
Speaking about the party’s future plans, KTR said a digital membership drive would be launched after the April 27 rally. He also mentioned upcoming training sessions for workers at the constituency level and said the party would hold its presidential election in October.
These steps, KTR noted, show the party’s commitment to internal democracy and preparing for future political challenges. He stressed that BRS is focused on Telangana’s development and ready for any election.
At a meeting held at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad, KTR said the BRS flag would continue to fly high across the state. He compared the party’s strength to a strong storm and predicted that BRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao would once again lead Telangana.
KTR also spoke about the possibility of more assembly and parliamentary seats being added in Greater Hyderabad due to delimitation. He said this would further increase the party’s influence.
He emphasized that BRS has a stronger presence in Hyderabad than national parties like Congress and BJP. He urged party members to work hard for the April 27 rally and to raise the BRS flag in every neighborhood.
Criticizing Congress and BJP, KTR called them Delhi-based parties that don’t care about Telangana’s development. He accused them of being jealous of the state’s progress.
