The Nagarjuna Sagar Left Main Canal Under Tunnel (UT) in Paleru is now ready to supply irrigation water. This project will benefit about 400,000 acres in Khammam district. State Revenue, Housing, Information, and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy announced that 1,500 cusecs of water will start flowing from Monday. The launch event is scheduled for 10 am with Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.

On Sunday, the Minister, along with District Collector Anudeep Durisetty, made an unplanned visit to inspect the canal works at Jujjularaopet in Kusumanchi mandal. He explained that last year’s heavy rains caused a breach in the canal’s Under Tunnel near the Paleru Reservoir in Kusumanchi mandal. To ensure farmers received irrigation water, temporary solutions were implemented during that period.
