Hyderabad: Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, who is in charge of Hyderabad, has accused the BJP of making a secret deal with the BRS party for the upcoming local body MLC elections in the city.
He questioned how the BJP, which has only 27 votes in the Hyderabad local body elections, could even consider contesting unless they had the support of the BRS. In total, there are 112 votes in the Hyderabad local bodies. Out of these, the BJP has 27 votes, BRS has 23, Congress has 13, and MIM holds the most with 49.
Ponnam Prabhakar said that Congress chose not to participate in the election because they don’t have enough support. He raised doubts about whether the BJP is getting help from the BRS or trying to encourage cross-voting from other parties.
He also pointed out that, despite criticism from BJP MLA Raja Singh, there should be a public discussion about whether BJP leader Kishan Reddy is acting as a representative for the BRS. The minister claimed that the BRS had supported the BJP in the recent MLC graduates constituency elections and now seems to be working with them again.
