Hyderabad: BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar has criticized the political use of the BC Reservation Bill. He stated that MLC K Kavitha lacks the moral standing to discuss issues related to BCs, questioning her actions during the nearly ten-year rule of the BRS.
On Monday, Ponnam spoke to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan. He urged BRS and BJP not to turn the BC reservation issue into a political matter, especially when efforts are underway to gain approval from the Centre. He called on BJP MP and BC leader R Krishnaiah to collaborate in empowering BCs. Ponnam invited all political parties, including former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his supporters, to join in pressuring the Centre.
Ponnam encouraged Krishnaiah to join him in visiting Delhi to advocate for BC reservation. He emphasized that the Congress government, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and supported by Rahul Gandhi, is committed to the welfare of Backward Classes. The government has already forwarded the BC Bill to the Governor.
Ponnam also praised Rahul Gandhi for his dedication, noting that the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha has consistently promoted the empowerment of Backward Castes.
