Around 80,000 poor people in the state, including those from the Wanaparthy constituency, are waiting for the release of thousands of Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) cheques. These cheques have been pending due to the Model Code of Conduct during the recent Assembly elections. These individuals had submitted hospital bills for reimbursement after receiving treatment in private hospitals. However, their hopes for relief from the government have been denied due to the code and polls. The wait has been ongoing for two months. It is believed that political considerations following the change of government are also contributing to the delay in releasing the CMRF cheques, which amount to approximately Rs 350 crore. The poor people of the constituency have appealed to the administration to release these cheques as soon as possible, as they have spent significant amounts on private treatment and are in need of relief.
