ADILABAD: The Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) aims to support Below Poverty Line (BPL) families with financial help. Unfortunately, for many eligible people, this support seems out of reach.
Under the last government, many submitted hospital bills hoping for CMRF aid. Applications were sent through MLA endorsements, but even after three years and a change in government, no cheques have been issued. Recently, many files were returned to current MLAs due to missing documents and signatures from previous MLAs.
Most of these returned files are from the Boath constituency. The MLA at the time did not sign the documents before submission. This oversight left many hopeful people disappointed after a three-year wait. Many had taken loans for medical treatments, expecting to be reimbursed by the CMRF, but delays due to political issues have left them frustrated.
Some managed to get signatures and documents from the former MLAs and resubmitted their files through current MLAs. Despite this, there has been no progress. New applicants can track their status using Aadhaar, but older files lack this option, according to MLA office sources. It remains unclear if or when the cheques will be issued.
