Private hospitals receive notices for breaching regulations

District health and medical officials in Mahabubnagar recently inspected hospitals and found three not following government rules. These hospitals were given show cause notices.

The officials, led by DM&HO Dr. Krishna, checked private hospitals for things like registration, displaying service prices in Telugu and English, and having firefighting equipment. They found three hospitals not following the rules.

Dr. Krishna said they were inspecting hospitals as directed by Health Minister Rajanarasimha. They identified three hospitals not displaying their service prices and issued notices to them.

In Mahabubnagar district, there are 416 clinics, hospitals, labs, dental, physiotherapy, and scanning centers. According to the law, these facilities must display price lists so the public knows about free services at government facilities.

During inspections over the past two months, officials have issued 40 notices to hospitals doing too many caesarean sections. Many hospitals also had untrained staff and some Registered Medical Practitioners falsely claiming to be doctors. Five RMPs clinics were shut down for breaking government rules.
