In Hyderabad, the Metro Rail Phase 2 (B) project is moving forward. The Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) submitted the proposal and necessary documents to the Central government on Saturday. The plan, approved by the State cabinet, includes three routes: RGIA to Bharat Future City (39.6 km, costing Rs 7,168 crore), JBS to Medchal (24.5 km, costing Rs 6,946 crore), and JBS to Shamirpet (22 km, costing Rs 5,465 crore).

This phase will cover a total of 86.1 km and require an investment of Rs 19,579 crore. Like Phase 2 (A), which had five routes covering 76.4 km, Phase 2 (B) is also a joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Telangana.
