Hyderabad celebrated World Public Relations Day on July 16, 2025, organized by the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) and the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC). The event took place at the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) in Red Hills.
The gathering honored Ivy Ledbetter Lee, known as the father of modern public relations, and discussed how public relations impact diplomacy, governance, corporate communication, and media today.
Lion Dr. Kiran Kumar, the Honorary Consul of Bulgaria in Hyderabad, delivered a keynote address emphasizing the importance of public relations. He described it as a vital connection between people, cultures, and nations, urging professionals to promote positivity. Dr. Kumar announced a contribution of Rs 1 lakh to the PRSI corpus fund, acknowledging PRSI’s influence on his business development strategies.
Dr. S. Ramu, a senior journalist and educator, chaired the event, discussing the ethical and transparent practice of public relations in today’s divided world.
Dr. K. Yadagiri, Chairman of PRSI Hyderabad Chapter, highlighted PRSI’s efforts across India to enhance the skills and knowledge of professionals in the field.
Smt. Aparna Rajhans, Secretary of PRSI Hyderabad Chapter, praised NMDC for their support in co-hosting development programs, which she noted helps boost public relations as a strategic field.
The event was attended by many prominent public relations practitioners, office bearers, executive committee members, national council representatives, patrons, and advisors of the chapter. PR and journalism faculty and students from top institutions also joined.
A special tribute was given to Dr. S. Ramu for his significant contributions as the former Chairman, recognizing his efforts in building strong partnerships and mentoring young professionals.
