Bhongir: Bakki Venkataiah, the Chairman of the SC/ST Commission, has instructed officials to address unresolved cases involving Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in various departments. On Saturday, he led a meeting at the Collectorate Conference Hall in Yadadri-Bhongir district with Collector Hanumantha Rao, DCP Akshansh Yadav, and other Commission members.

The Chairman suggested organizing a Civil Rights Day on the last Saturday of each month. This event would involve tahsildars and police officers to tackle issues faced by villagers. He also ordered the creation of a quarterly District Vigilance & Monitoring Committee (DVMC) to enhance coordination among departments for SC/ST matters. He emphasized following the Rule of Reservation (RoR) in promotions and warned of disciplinary measures for non-compliance.

Earlier, the Chairman inspected the ongoing construction of Ambedkar Bhavan in Singannagudem and called for its quick completion. He also honored Dr. BR Ambedkar and Babu Jagjivan Ram by laying flowers at their statues in Bhongir town. The Chairman accepted public petitions directly.
