    Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police have issued guidelines for setting up temporary shops to sell crackers for the upcoming Diwali festival. People who wish to sell crackers within the Rachakonda area need to obtain a license. The Deputy Commissioner of Police in the respective zones will issue these licenses, following the Explosives Act of 1884 and the amended Explosives Rules of 1983 (updated in 2008).

    Those interested in selling crackers must manually apply for a temporary license using Form AE-5 of the Explosives Rules. Applications began being accepted on October 16, and the last date to submit them is October 28. Any applications submitted after this date will not be considered.

    Applicants need to submit several documents along with the filled-out form. These include a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Divisional Fire Officer, land permission from GHMC authorities if the land is government-owned, or an NOC/agreement from the landowner if it is private property. They should also provide a copy of the previous year’s license (optional), an NOC from nearby neighbors if the shop is in a permanent structure, and a site plan (blueprint) of the shop.

    The applicants must also pay a license fee of Rs 600 at the State Bank of India, Medchal-Malkajgiri collectorate branch. The fee should be paid under the Head of Account-0055-Police, 800-Other receipts, 81-Other items, 001-Receipts.

    The police have made it clear that any applications missing required documents will be rejected.
