Hyderabad: World Heritage Day was celebrated at the Rail Museum in Kacheguda on Friday. To mark the occasion, the museum offered free entry to school and college students, railway passengers, and heritage enthusiasts.
The Rail Museum features old railway equipment, including models of how trains used to work. It also showcases the lever and signal systems used in the past. One interesting part of the exhibit was a collection of fans used from the 1960s until recent years, which caught the attention of many visitors.
A historic photograph of the Kacheguda Railway Station, which was opened in 1916 by the Nizams, was a major highlight. Many visitors admired its unique design and historical value.
The Kacheguda Railway Station building, built in 1916, has also received the Platinum award from the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) for its sustainable design.
