Hyderabad: Roopa Srinivasan, who is the Member Finance of the Railway Board and an Ex-officio Secretary to the Government of India, visited the Indian Railways Institute of Financial Management (IRIFM) in Secunderabad on Tuesday.
During her visit, she met with 55 trainee officers who are part of the Indian Railways Management Service (IRMS) in the accounts sub-cadre. These officers are currently undergoing training at the institute.
While speaking to the trainees, she talked about the important role that Indian Railways plays in the development of the country. She said that the Railways is now seen as a bridge between old traditions and new technology. She highlighted upcoming advancements like hydrogen-powered trains and the hyperloop system.
Roopa Srinivasan also reminded the probationers about the importance of ethical behavior in public service. She encouraged them to maintain high moral standards while serving the nation.
