Choutuppal (Yadadri Bhongir): A special event to distribute ration cards took place in Choutuppal town on Tuesday. Munugode MLA Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy was the main guest at the ceremony. He, along with MLC Nellikanti Satyam, started the event by lighting a ceremonial lamp. Reddy gave new ration cards to beneficiaries from Choutuppal Mandal and Municipality. He mentioned that many poor individuals have waited for new ration cards for years. “Today, we are happy to provide them to deserving people, without considering caste or political ties,” he said.
Reddy highlighted that the Congress government is working to improve the economy while also providing welfare programs for the needy. He recalled the introduction of the fine rice scheme to stop substandard rice from reaching middlemen and ensure government funds help the poor directly.
He expressed regret over the neglect faced by those who fought in the Telangana movement over the past decade. Reddy stated, “The Congress party gave India its freedom and created Telangana. Only Congress can truly support the poor,” encouraging people to support the Congress party for a better future.
Satyam criticized the previous government for not issuing new ration cards or updating existing ones. He commended the current government’s dedication to serving the public and praised the distribution of fine rice to those in need.
