The TRS and AIMIM leaders in Jalpally municipality announced a plan to rehabilitate the victims from the Osman Nagar area, which has been submerged in water since 2020. The announcement stated that the affected people would be given patta lands up to 50 square yards and financial assistance of up to Rs.3 lakhs to build their own houses. However, the local people of Osman Nagar are opposing the plan due to lack of clarity.

The residents are unhappy with the proposed allocation of land, as their houses range from 100-800 square yards. They also believe that the financial assistance is not enough to build a house. Approximately 400 houses in Osman Nagar are either fully or partially submerged in the Venkatapuram Lake. Some families have already left their homes due to the increasing water levels.

The delay in addressing the inundation issue and the recent heavy rains have caused frustration among the affected families. The leaders from BRS and BRS parties announced the rehabilitation plan without specifying the location or providing written assurance through a government order. The residents are now demanding clarity before deciding whether to give up their submerged houses.

Community activists believe that the announcement is a political gimmick ahead of the upcoming elections. They claim that the political leadership has ignored the suffering of the people in Osman Nagar for years. Senior leaders and well-wishers of the area are currently discussing the details of the rehabilitation plan before presenting a proposal to the minister.

There are concerns about the location where the affected people will be relocated, as the current area is close to the city and has necessary amenities for daily life.
