Report: Pilot and Passenger Rescued After Private Helicopter Crash in Nepal

A private helicopter service provider, Heli Everest, experienced an accident when one of its choppers went out of contact after being hit by strong winds. The incident happened on Sunday morning when the chopper was carrying goods for Italian mountaineers around Dhaulagiri base camp. Fortunately, there were no casualties as the pilot and the lone passenger onboard were rescued.

The chopper flew at 11.1 am on Sunday and went out of contact after being hit by strong winds. The wreckage of the helicopter was located at 12:40 pm, and the pilot, Priya Adhikari, the only female helicopter pilot of Nepal, was safely rescued and transported to Kathmandu for medical treatment. A Nepali Sherpa passenger who was on board the chopper was also rescued from the site unhurt and flown to Kathmandu after receiving first aid treatment.

Phurwa Sherpa of Heli Everest reported that the chopper was carrying goods for Italian mountaineers around Dhaulagiri base camp when the accident occurred. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has formed a committee to investigate the incident.
