Hyderabad: People living in Hafez Baba Nagar in the Chandrayangutta area are struggling due to a lack of basic services. Locals and commuters face difficulties as they navigate roads full of potholes and dug-up sections.
There are ongoing problems with sewage overflow, poor sanitation, and piles of garbage, as civic workers neglect to clean the area. In places like Baba Nagar A, B, and C blocks, and Phool Bagh, roads are in terrible shape because officials ignore requests to fix them. Mohammed Aleem, a resident, said they’ve often complained about the roads, but no action has been taken. Roads remain dug up, and it’s been so long since they were properly laid.
Sewage overflow and garbage are common sights. Shaik Usheer from Baba Nagar C Block mentioned that the old sewage pipes cause daily problems. Residents feel neglected because officials overlook these basic issues, especially since it’s a slum area.
Vinod, living in Phool Bagh, noted the lack of proper sanitation. He pointed out that even though the GHMC south zone office is in Baba Nagar, officials ignore the area’s needs. Garbage collection is irregular, and there are no designated spots for trash disposal, keeping the area untidy.
