Officials from the municipality and water works in Manikonda, Rangareddy district, are being accused of negligence. They have been constantly digging up newly built roads to lay water and sewerage lines, causing delays in restoration. This is inconveniencing residents and wasting taxpayers’ money.
Manikonda municipality, established in 2018, is a well-established area on the outskirts of the city. It is known as a commercial hub due to the presence of leading software companies and luxurious high-rise buildings. However, in several areas, the newly built roads are being dug up to lay water pipelines, without proper planning, leading to inconvenience and financial burden on taxpayers.
Residents of Alkapur Township in Manikonda have expressed their frustration with the lack of coordination between officials from the civic body and the HMWSSB (water works). Dug-up roads during the rainy season have turned into muddy paths, making it difficult for locals to move around freely. Despite raising the issue with the municipality commissioner and water works officials, no action has been taken.
The delay in road restoration works has caused hardship for residents and commuters. Officials are expected to follow rules regarding road cutting permissions, but they themselves have failed to do so. Residents are calling for authorities from HMWSSB and the municipality to address the issue and take their suffering into consideration.
In conclusion, residents in Manikonda are frustrated with the ongoing road digging and delays in restoration works. They are urging officials to coordinate better and take action to resolve the issue.
