Chennai Super Kings (CSK) dedicated their win in the IPL 2023 final to retiring player Ambati Rayudu. Rayudu scored 19 runs off eight balls in the final before announcing his retirement from the Indian Premier League. CSK opener Ruturaj Gaikwad said the team wanted to dedicate the win to Rayudu, who played his last IPL match in the final against Gujarat Titans. CSK beat Gujarat Titans by five wickets by DLS method. CSK pacer Deepak Chahar said Rayudu always believed that they would win the final and that they had a simple plan – to give their best and win the title.
The IPL 2023 final was special for CSK because of how their performance went last year. They came back in style to win away games and win in Chepauk, with an unbelievable finish.
