Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has warned YouTubers and digital media channels against posting abusive content or using disrespectful language against the government. He stated that the government would follow a strict zero-tolerance policy in such cases.

Recently, two female online journalists were arrested for allegedly sharing an offensive video on social media. In response, Reddy urged journalist unions to clearly define who qualifies as a journalist and to create a list of mainstream journalists. He suggested that any journalist on this list found guilty of misconduct should face appropriate punishment. He also stated that people who spread false propaganda without being recognized journalists would be treated as criminals.

Reddy also criticized the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) for opposing police cases against “paid artistes” who allegedly posted offensive videos recorded at their party office. He strongly disapproved of the language used in these posts, stating that such comments made his “blood boil,” especially when they targeted family members.

He further questioned those condemning the arrests, asking if they would tolerate similar comments directed at their own family members. Reddy denounced the practice of using abusive remarks for political gain and urged the Leader of the Opposition to prevent his children from engaging in such activities.
