Hyderabad: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has selected Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy as one of the “star campaigners” for the upcoming Delhi Legislative Assembly elections. These elections are scheduled to take place on February 5.

Revanth Reddy will officially begin his campaign in Delhi after completing his two-nation tour. Other prominent leaders named as star campaigners include AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and several others, such as Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar and Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. The list of 40 campaigners was finalized by AICC General Secretary Sachin Pilot. Revanth Reddy’s inclusion in the team followed his impactful press conference in Delhi on December 16, where he highlighted Telangana’s governance model and welfare schemes.

During his recent visit to Delhi, Revanth Reddy predicted a tough time for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the upcoming elections. He claimed that AAP would face a similar defeat to that of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Telangana. He also accused AAP and BRS of being “partners” in the Delhi liquor policy scam. “We defeated one partner in Telangana, and now we are here to defeat the main partner in Delhi,” he remarked.

As part of the Congress campaign in Delhi, Revanth Reddy launched the ‘Mehngai Mukt Yojana’ and announced two key promises for voters. These include providing LPG cylinders at Rs 500 and offering 300 units of free electricity. He emphasized that Telangana’s success in implementing welfare schemes could be replicated in Delhi if corruption is curbed. “If corruption is controlled, there will be sufficient funds for welfare programs. In Telangana, after Congress formed the government, we stopped the looting and ensured proper utilization of money,” he explained.
