City Congress president Komatireddy Narender Reddy inspected the cable bridge in Karimnagar on Friday. He alleged that the cable bridge approach road collapsed due to corruption in the development works. Many construction projects lack quality and are cracking or collapsing within a month of completion. He also claimed that officials were trying to hide the damage by covering it up.
During his visit to the cable bridge, Narender Reddy accused the ruling party of obstructing corruption investigations by blocking the road and stationing police guards. He held Kamalakar responsible for these actions.
The Congress leader highlighted previous incidents of poor quality work, such as the washing away of Manair river front check dams and footpath tiles being washed away in rainwater. He also mentioned a large-scale scam in the development of intersections. Narender Reddy criticized the overall state of development projects in the city.
