The district administration in Bhuvanagiri has accelerated the land acquisition process for the Regional Ring Road (RRR), a flagship infrastructure project undertaken jointly by the central and state governments. Land acquisition has been successfully completed in all mandals except Bhuvanagiri mandal, marking significant progress in the ambitious project. District Collector Anurag Jayanthi and Additional Collector Revenue K. Venkareddy are leading special initiatives and conducting village-wise meetings with farmers to facilitate smooth land transfer.

The RRR will traverse approximately 60 kilometers through the northern part of the district. Major junctions are planned at Rayagiri and Chautuppal in Bhuvanagiri mandal. The administration has set a target to acquire 2,588 acres of land for the project. The ring road will originate at Veerareddipalli in Turkapalli mandal and pass through Yadagirigutta, Bhuvanagiri, Valigonda and Chautuppal.

In Yadagirigutta and Turkapalli mandals, the land acquisition process has reached its final stage. Authorities have acquired 19.540 acres for a 19-kilometer stretch, and the award has been passed. A total of 290 acres have been acquired, with Rs. 57 crores disbursed to 674 farmers. Only land in Mallapur remains pending, and arrangements are underway to compensate the remaining landowners.

The situation in Bhuvanagiri mandal has been more complex, where 484 acres were to be acquired across Rayagiri, Kesaram, Penchikalapahad, Tukkapur, Ghausnagar and Erramballi. The process was initially halted due to a court case and subsequent farmer objections, despite the verdict favoring the government. Currently, surveys have been completed in Kesaram and Penchikalapahad, with awards already passed. Survey work continues in the remaining areas except Rayagiri, though no compensation has been disbursed to farmers in this mandal yet.

NHAI officials have requested acquisition of approximately 2,000 acres from around 2,588 farmers across the project area. An award has been passed to pay compensation of Rs. 532 crore for 1,289 acres. To date, compensation totaling Rs. 121.46 crore has been deposited in the accounts of 1,035 farmers for 409 acres.
