Hyderabad: The State Tribal Affairs Department has put together a plan for Rs 700 crore to develop roads and infrastructure in tribal areas across the state. Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar, responsible for SC, ST, Minority, and Disabled Welfare, shared this during a press conference at the Secretariat. He emphasized that the government is actively working to secure central funds for SC and ST development.

The Minister mentioned frequent meetings with the Union Tribal Affairs Minister in Delhi to push for the release of these funds. He assured that the state is committed to improving the quality of food in SC and ST residential schools. Previously, aluminum cookware caused issues in hostels, so now they are switching to stainless steel utensils.

A special committee, headed by the District Collector, is set up at district and mandal levels to regularly check food quality. Officials from various departments, including MRO, MPDO, and DMHO, visit hostels to prevent any issues.

All hostels in the state now follow a standardized diet. Necessary items like vegetables, eggs, and chicken are being sourced through clear and fair tenders at the district level.
