RTC Enhances Passenger Experience with Free WiFi
The RTC is set to improve travel for passengers by introducing free WiFi on buses and at bus stops. This initiative aims to make both the journey and waiting times more pleasant.
Collaboration with a Private Internet Firm
RTC has teamed up with a private internet company to implement this service. They have briefed the state government about their plans.
Approval from the Transport Minister
In a recent meeting, RTC officials presented their WiFi project to Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar. The minister supported the idea and gave the green light for the project.
Rollout of WiFi Services
The plan is to equip all types of buses and bus stops with WiFi simultaneously. Initially, passengers can enjoy selected movies and songs on their devices. General internet access will follow, but users will encounter ads during their media consumption.
Boosting Revenue
This initiative is expected to generate additional income for RTC. The revenue will be split between the internet company and RTC, providing both entertainment for passengers and extra earnings for the organization.
