Sarpanch Alleges Officials Engaged in a Witch Hunt

The Sarpanch of Chilakatone Palli village in Wanaparthy, who was suspended for misappropriation of funds, has resumed her position. The district Collector had ordered her suspension, but she challenged it in the High Court and got a stay order. She claims that she used the funds as directed by officials and that she even used her own money and took out loans for development work. She believes that the officials and ruling party leaders targeted her out of hatred. She also mentioned that they are working hard to implement government schemes for the village’s development. The Sarpanch’s return to office was celebrated with the participation of various local leaders.
