Former DRDO Chairman and Technical Advisor to Defence Minister, Dr G Satish Reddy, participated in the Green India Challenge today. He planted saplings at Doctors Scientist Hostel in Secunderabad, accompanied by Green India Challenge founder and Rajya Sabha MP, Santosh Kumar.
Dr Satish Reddy emphasized the dangers of pollution, particularly from plastic and vehicle emissions, which are causing significant harm to the Earth. The situation has resulted in billions of dollars being spent on research to combat pollution and an increasing number of people requiring medical treatment due to pollution-related illnesses. Pollution not only damages natural resources like air and water but also negatively impacts every aspect of life. In response to this alarming situation, efforts are being made to discover habitable places on other planets.
To address the issue of pollution, Dr Satish Reddy stressed the importance of massive plantation efforts and raising awareness about the environment. He congratulated Santosh Kumar for taking on the nationwide plantation program through the Green India Challenge and urged everyone to join and contribute to its success.
Santosh Kumar expressed his delight at Dr Satish Reddy’s participation in the Green India Challenge and highlighted his accomplishments in the field of science and technology in the defense sector. He believed that Dr Satish Reddy’s inspiring words would motivate more people to take part in the plantation program.
The program also saw the participation of other scientists and founders of the Green India Challenge, including Raghava and Karunakar Reddy.
