Hyderabad: On Sunday, Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager of South Central Railways, launched the “Fit India Cyclothon” at the Railway Sports Complex in Secunderabad. He participated alongside a group of SCR officials.
The SCR Sports Association organized this event under the Khelo India Scheme's FIT INDIA initiative, supported by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. The goal was to encourage fitness among railway employees and local communities.
Arun Kumar Jain praised the association for this significant and timely initiative. He highlighted the importance of maintaining fitness, noting it’s crucial today. “The Fit India Movement has greatly benefited many in staying healthy. Cycling is excellent for health, and it’s increasingly popular in other countries for fitness. It’s also environmentally friendly,” he stated.
Participants included Neeraj Agrawal, Additional General Manager of SCR, Bhartesh Kumar Jain, Divisional Railway Manager of the Secunderabad Division, along with senior railway officials and SCR sports personnel.
The Union Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment are advocating for the Fit India Cycling drive. Initiated by the Prime Minister, the FIT INDIA Movement aims to engage citizens nationwide in making India healthier.
