Secunderabad recently hosted a special medical camp to mark the 59th Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) Day. From August 21 to 22, Military Hospital Secunderabad opened its doors to families of Armed Forces personnel, offering various health services. Attendees received screenings for breast and cervical cancer, along with eye, ENT, and dental check-ups.
Shyamanjali Misra, the Chairperson of the Family Welfare Organisation in the Telangana and Andhra Sub Area (TASA), inaugurated the event. She urged families to regularly check their health and take control of their well-being.
Participants received educational pamphlets on preventing breast and cervical cancer. Medical experts also held talks to emphasize the necessity of early detection.
A notable session at the camp focused on organ donation. This lecture aimed to clear up misconceptions and encourage organ donation, which can save lives. Many families showed their support for this cause by pledging to donate.
This initiative not only provided essential health services but also fostered a culture of health awareness and preventive care among the Armed Forces community.
