Amidst the uncertainty of party tickets being finalized, BRS senior leader and Malkajigiri MLA M Hanumanth Rao criticized State Finance and Medical and Health minister T Harish Rao. Hanumanth Rao accused Harish Rao of hindering development in the old Medak district by encouraging group politics. He questioned Harish Rao’s involvement in ticket allocation, stating that he himself is contesting from Malkajigiri and his son will be running in the Medak assembly constituency.
It is reported that Hanumantha Rao’s son, Rohit Rao, is aiming for the BRS seat in the Medak assembly segment. The current MLA, Padma Devendar Reddy, is a loyal follower of Harish Rao in Medak district. Hanumantha Rao alleged that Harish was preventing young leaders from growing politically in the old Medak district.
The BRS MLA warned that he will demonstrate his power and influence in Harish Rao’s assembly segment of Siddipet. Harish Rao has been winning elections there with a significant majority since the 2004 assembly elections. Hanumantha Rao also accused Harish Rao of accumulating Rs one lakh crore wealth through corrupt practices and stealing public money.
