The SFI Telangana State Committee has urged the Telangana State RTC to cancel its plan to raise bus pass prices by 20%.

SFI State President S Rajanikanth and State Secretary T Nagaraju expressed concerns on Monday, highlighting the struggles students in rural areas already face due to earlier fare hikes.

They warned that an additional 20% increase could prevent students from disadvantaged backgrounds, who depend on buses for their education, from continuing their studies.

Currently, the RTC does not operate buses for students on several routes.

The move to increase fares and pass costs, despite demands for more buses and free rides, is seen as unfair. The SFI insists that the RTC drop this proposal immediately, or they will organize protests at all bus depots.
