The Canadian government has named Satinder Singh Brar, also known as Goldy Brar, as one of the country’s top 25 wanted criminals. Brar is wanted by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for murder and is believed to be the mastermind behind the killing of Sidhu Moosewala, a famous singer-politician. Brar is part of Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang and is of Punjab origin. The Canadian not-for-profit organization, Bolo (Be On the Lookout) Programme, has listed Brar’s life-sized cutout among the other 25 fugitives at Toronto’s Yonge-Dundas Square.
Brar, who is 29 years old and arrived in Canada on a student visa in 2017, allegedly claimed responsibility for the murder of Sidhu Moosewala, who was shot dead in Punjab’s Mansa district on May 29, 2022. However, there is no reward for Brar, who is ranked 15th on the list. He has been on the run since then and is currently under investigation but has not been charged with any criminal offenses in Canada.
According to Interpol, Brar has been charged with murder, criminal conspiracy, and the supply of illegal firearms in India. A Red Corner notice has already been issued against him, which allows for his arrest as a fugitive. The Punjab Police have implicated Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi in Moosewala’s killing. Bishnoi has been in jail since his arrest in 2015 but continues to operate his terror-crime syndicate from prison.
Goldy Brar has also been accused of the killing of ‘Dera Sacha Sauda’ follower Pradeep Kumar in November 2022. He has been named in the police chargesheet filed in the Mansa court on August 26 last year. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by Anti-Gangster Task Force chief Pramod Ban is investigating Moosewala’s killing. Ban has said that Bishnoi confessed to being the main conspirator and that the execution planning was hatched in August 2021 to avenge the murder of Akali youth leader Middukhera.
